Marine growth prevention / anti-fouling systems protecting sea water piping from weed and mussel growth.
Overview
In an M.G.P.S., copper anodes release ions into the sea water that stop mussels and weed from settling in the piping, while aluminium or iron anodes protect the pipes against corrosion. The anodes are fitted in sea chests or strainers, and a control panel sets the current.
