I.C.C.P. Systems

Impressed current cathodic protection for the external hull.

ICCP anode with dielectric shield and a reference electrode on a hull in dry dock

Overview

An I.C.C.P. system feeds a controlled DC current to the hull through non-consumable anodes set into the shell plating. The control panel measures hull potential through reference electrodes and adjusts the current automatically, giving long-term protection without anode replacement.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Automatic current control
  • Non-consumable anodes
  • Continuous monitoring via reference electrodes

Two ICCP anodes on a ship's stern hull near the propeller and rudder in dry dock

Applications

  1. 01Large merchant ships
  2. 02Tankers and bulk carriers
  3. 03Ships with long dry-docking intervals
  4. 04Offshore structures
